The highly anticipated Blackpink comeback is taking form. Mark your calendars Blinks because they are releasing the music video for Ready To Love this weekend!
The group, which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose, have revealed that the music video will come out on 29 July at 9:30 am IST. Just a couple of days ago the girl group performed the then unreleased track at PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile’s first-ever in-game concert, The Virtual. They also previously sang the song for a studio session that was in their 2020 Netflix documentary film, Light Up The Sky.
Blackpink’s official social media accounts shared a teaser poster for Ready To Love announcing its release on July 25. The music video for the track was made in collaboration with PUBG.
The announcement on Blackpink's official Instagram read, “BLACKPINK X PUBG MOBILE - ‘Ready For Love’ M/V 2022. 07. 29 12AM (EDT) & 1PM (KST) RELEASE.”
Ready To Love is the group’s first endeavor following the release of The Album in October 2020, which featured the top-charting lead single How You Like That.
The quintet is also in the last stages of preparation for their new album according to a statement issued by YG Entertainment earlier in the month. The company shared that Blackpink's new song will be released in August, along with “a continuous large-scale project that will run into the second half of the year.”
Ryan Tedder, the lead singer for the band OneRepublic, has hinted at a possible collaboration with Blackpink for their August release. “I can't tell you what's coming out,” Tedder remarked in an appearance on Good Morning America, adding, “I think one or two of my songs have made the album. From what I’ve been told, and the stuff that I did with them, I can just say is very true to their sound.”
