Blackpink Comeback Fixed For August, Reveal Plans For A World Tour Too

We finally have official confirmation about Blackpink’s comeback from their agency!

According to a statement from YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is currently in the final stages of recording a new album. They will film the music video for the title track in July and release their new song in August.

According to a news report released by the Korean site XSports News, YGE said, “We have been making a lot of music that suits BLACKPINK’s style for a long time.”

This will be BLACKPINK’s first comeback as a complete group in about a year and 10 months. Their last release was 2020’s The Album which was their first full-length album. The group released a pre-release title, How You Like That, and a special collaboration single, Ice Cream ft. Selena Gomez, leading up to the album’s release. Fans are wondering if their comeback lead up will be as grand as that.

The Album sold over 1.4 million copies, becoming the first K-pop girl group album to sell a million copies (based on Hanteo/Gaon charts).

Besides confirmation about their comeback, YG Entertainment also announced that BLACKPINK will go on a world tour later this year. “BLACKPINK will go on the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group by the end of the year to expand their rapport with fans around the world. Their large-scale projects will continue moving forward,” they added.

Rumors about the girl group’s comeback have been going around since April. The members have also been teasing the comeback for the past few months while interacting with fans.
