Fans have been expecting the debut of a female ‘super group’ from SM Entertainment since the debut of SuperM in 2019. And we’re finally getting it!
On December 27 midnight, the company revealed a new project where female idols from different groups and soloists from SM Entertainment will release new music as a special sub-unit called Girls On Top (GOT).
GOT is a little different from SuperM tho. SuperM has had the same lineup of members – SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, and NCT’s Taeyong, Ten, Mark and Lucas – since their debut. GOT, however, is a rotational unit whose members aren’t fixed. The lineup will change every release/song like it does for every NCT U track.
The very first unit from GOT, named GOT The Beat, has a stellar member lineup that includes Boa, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Wendy and Seulgi and aespa’s Karina and Winter.
GOT The Beat is releasing their debut track on 3 January but they’ll perform it two days before that on SM Entertainment’s upcoming online concert that is airing on 1 January for free on many sites including Youtube and Beyond LIVE.
