SM Entertainment Searching For New NCT Members, Opens Auditions In 14 Cities

Looks like we’ll get introduced to new NCT members sometime soon in the future! SM Entertainment announced on 10 June that they are taking auditions for new members who will join NCT.

SM Entertainment shared their upcoming Welcome to the NeoCiTy auditions happening in July and August this year. The company shared posters and details of the audition on their official social media pages.

The company states that they are taking in males born between 2001 and 2008. They will judge the applicants based on their vocal, rap and dance capabilities. The applicants have to send in two videos where their faces are seen fully without any filters applied and for those applying for the dance category, they have to cover one of these songs: Make A Wish, 90’s Love, Universe by NCT U, Lemonade by NCT 127, Glitch Mode by NCT Dream, or Kick Back by WayV.

The auditions will proceed in 2 steps. The first will be the online application. Only the applicants who pass the online application proceed to the second round of auditions which will take place offline. This will happen in 14 countries around the world - Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Jakarta, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Beijing, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

We wish all the applicants best of luck!

NCT debuted in 2016. They have since been adding new members almost every year - the only year they didn’t was in 2021. They have four subunits - three of which are permanent and one which is recyclable. NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV are the three permanent subunits of the group while NCT U is a subunit that doesn’t have fixed members and instead members who fit the vibe of the song they are promoting will be included every time.
