A lot of Kpop groups that are formed in survival shows end up being extremely popular. I.O.I, Wanna One, Iz*one, iKon, Winner, Enhypen, Twice and Stray Kids are all great examples of this. But as popular as these groups are, a lot of times they are temporary and disband after promoting for a few months - unless they are from survival shows created by Kpop agencies like Twice, Enhypen and iKon.
So, although fans know that temporary groups have a fairly short run and disband pretty quickly after their debut, they still enjoy the music and content put out by the group when they are active.
One such group formed through a survival show that is really taking off this year and getting popular is Kep1er. The members of the group were among the 99 trainees who participated in Mnet’s Girls Planet 999. After securing the top nine spot in the finale of the show late last year, they debuted as Kep1er early this year with the bold track Wa Da Da.
Even though the group has only been active for a couple of months now, fans are already dreading their disbandment. But when exactly will Kep1er Disband?
It has been announced previously that the group signed an exclusive contract with Wakeone Entertainment and Swing Entertainment to remain active for two years and six months. This means that the group will promote actively in 2022 and 2023 and that their contract will probably expire in mid 2024.
Additionally, some members already have other career moves planned out for their future after Kep1er. Back in January it was revealed that Hikaru will join the girlgroup XG after her contract with Kep1er is over.
