It hasn’t been long since Kep1er’s debut but some members already have their career after the group’s disbandment planned out!
Kep1er was formed from the survival show Girls Planet 999 and debuted on 3 January, 2022. Although initially the girl group was supposed to debut a little earlier, it got pushed back because the members had to quarantine for COVID-19.
Their successful debut track, Wa Da Da, got them their first music show win and the debut EP, First Impact, sold an impressive 100,000 plus copies.
Like the past groups formed from Mnet’s survival shows like I.O.I, Wanna One, Iz*one and X1, Kep1er is a temporary group. They have signed an exclusive contract for 2 years and 6 months and will probably disband after that time period.
And it looks like we already have confirmation about what member Hikaru will move onto after Kep1er.
In a Zoom meeting on 21 January, Simon who is a member of the second generation Kpop group DMTN, revealed that he is producing a Kpop group called XG which will be a collaboration between YG Japan and Avex Inc. XG is set to debut sometime this year. In the same meeting, he revealed that Kep1er’s Ezaki Hikaru will also be joining the team after Kep1er’s disbandment.
