Oh My Girl member Jiho has decided to not resign her contract with WM Entertainment and has left the company and the group.
WM Entertainment released an official statement announcing Jiho’s departure from the group on 9 May that said:
Hello, this is WM Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express my deep gratitude to the fans and many others who love and support Oh My Girl.
We have renewed the contract with the 6 members of Oh My Girl, Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Yubin, and Arin. Based on the trust that we have built up together over the past 7 years, we will spare no effort to provide full support to the 6 members so that they can be active in various fields.
Additionally, we respect Jiho’s decision to terminate her contract with the company and move toward a new dream. She came to this decision after a long and in-depth discussion with the members as well as the company.
We want to express our gratitude to Jiho for being with us for 7 years, and we will sincerely support Jiho's activities in the future.
In the future, the 6 members will still continue their activities with Oh My Girl. Oh My Girl will keep promoting and putting out music, so please give us a lot of encouragement and support as we do now.
This news comes days after Oh My Girl celebrated their seventh anniversary together as a group with a fanmeeting. Oh My Girl also recently came back with their second full album, Real Love, with the title track of the same name in March.
Jiho uploaded a handwritten letter to Fancafe on the same day addressing her departure and thanking fans for support.
We wish Jiho and Oh My Girl all the best for her future activities!
