2NE1 have reunited! And they did this iconic comeback at the 2022 Coachella main stage!
The Kpop girl group haven’t been active in over 6 years since the promotion of their 2014 album, Crush. This is the group’s first performance with all members since their disbandment in 2016.
The group performance of 2NE1 was a surprise for fans since only CL was listed as a performer at the music festival! CL was the final act for 88Rising's ‘Head In The Clouds’ act on the main stage of Coachella on Saturday, 16 April.
She started her set with her ever popular 2015 track Hello Bitches and followed it up with her recent hit Spicy. And just as fans were getting ready to jam to the final song from her for the night, the other 2NE1 members, Park Bom, Dara and Minzy, joined her on stage and the quartet performed their 2011 mega hit song, I Am The Best.
This mirrors their legendary surprise performance at the 2015 MAMA stage. Then, like at this year’s Coachella, just the group’s leader CL was listed as one of the performers for the night. But after her solo performance, the members of 2NE1 dramatically joined her on stage to perform I Am The Best - surprising everyone in the audience.
Although 2NE1 performing at Coachella was not confirmed, apparently, there had been some hints about it. While announcing the set at Coachella on their official Weibo page, 88Rising tagged CL as well as 2NE1’s account in the post. Additionally, a staff member from Park Bom’s team had also mentioned that he was in LA recently. So, some fans were speculating about a possible 2NE1 reunion but since there were no major or official announcements about it, no one was sure it was happening.
