Nayeon’s solo debut with her eponymous mini album was very successful. And yes, we actually have the numbers and rankings to prove our statement! (Not that we need to because everyone under the sun - at least if they’re into Kpop - knows Twice and how popular they are. But we’re going to anyway!)
The Twice member has become the first Kpop soloist to debut in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with Im Nayeon. The music and entertainment magazine revealed on 3 July that Nayeon’s debut mini album had charted at number 7. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the US every week. The album also topped the 9 July edition of Billboard’s Top Album Sales and is the best selling album in the United States this week. Im Nayeon sold over 52,000 physical copies in the US in its first week of release.

Additionally, Nayeon sold over 250,000 copies of her debut album in the first week of release according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart. This makes the album rank fourth in the highest first week album sales chart for female Kpop soloists - only behind Blackpink members Lisa’s Lalisa, Rose’s R and IU’s Lilac.
As the first Twice member to go solo, Nayeon had a lot of expectations and the pressure placed upon her to do well. We’re glad she lived up to them all and more with her release.
