SMTOWN To Hold First Offline Concert In 3 Years

Exciting news up ahead for all fans of Kpop groups from SM Entertainment! The company has just announced an offline collective concert for the first time in 3 years.

The company revealed that it will hold an agency wide concert, called SMTOWN, at Tokyo Dome, Japan, on 27 and 28 August, 2022. The announcement came alongside a poster for the concert uploaded to all SM Entertainment's social media accounts.

The artists who will perform at the concert are: H.O.T.’s Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, SHINee’s Onew, Key, and Minho, EXO’s Suho, Chen, and Kai, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, and DJs Raiden and GINJO.

SM Entertainment has been holding SMTOWN since 2008. They have held the concert at various cities around the world including Paris, Tokyo, New York, Beijing, Los Angeles, Singapore and ________ among others.

The last couple of years, the Kpop agency was holding the concert online due to the global pandemic and the restrictions on traveling or touring and concerts. They were also streaming the shows free of cost - on New Year’s day so that fans had something to enjoy, look forward to and celebrate even during difficult times. Fans appreciate this gesture from the company and a lot of viewers tuned in to the live streams.

The last concert, titled ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS @TOKYO’, which was held on 1 January 2022 had a record breaking 51 million people tuning in from 178 countries around the world. The last offline SMTOWN concert also took place in Tokyo back in 2019.

The upcoming concert is titled ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS’.

We’re very excited about this news! Finally, we can go to physical concerts and that too one with all the active SM artists! How do you feel about this? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
