NCT Jeno To Open Peter Do’s SS23 NYFW Show

SM Entertainment and Peter Do's anticipated collaboration for their Spring/Summer 2023 runway presentation at New York Fashion Week has been made official. NCT member Jeno will open the runway at the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 show at New York Fashion Week and labelmate Red Velvet's Seulgi will be in the front row.

The collaboration, which was hinted at earlier this week, will feature some of SM's celebrities on the upcoming runway, which will feature womenswear, unisex, as well as the brand's first menswear collection. NCT member Jeno will kick off the presentation, making history as the first K-pop star to do so at a NYFW presentation.

"Having Jeno open the show was an obvious choice. The Peter Do man is multifaceted, self-assured, and a trailblazer, as embodied by Jeno,” Do said in a press release adding, "I have such admiration for these artists because they devote so much time to their work that the general public never notices. Few people are aware of how much work goes into creating the final product; since it is very similar to the fashion industry, I strongly identify with that process. We are honored to collaborate with the biggest K-pop stars on the planet to help shape the future of fashion as a brand carving out its own niche in the market.”

The collaboration includes show invitations that arrive in the shape of a cookie tin, as well as special appearances from celebrities like Seulgi from Red Velvet and Shohei and Eunseok from SMROOKIES. Each tin includes a disposable camera with the SM brand, as well as cookies bearing the "PD" and "SM" stamps and a recipe from Do's late father. Do said, "This memory box is a nod to SM's presence in various stages of my life. It is filled with all these items that have personal emotional significance to me. I have fond memories of listening to Girls' Generation music on the bus to school. We built studio furniture while continuously playing Red Velvet when we first launched the brand.”
