Ex Iz*one Jo Yuri To Have Her First Comeback Soon, Releases Teaser Poster

We are now in a world where almost all former Iz*one members have redebuted in girl groups or as soloists. And with the name and fame they earned as a part of the legendary albeit temporary group, it comes as no surprise that all of them are pretty successful - be it Ive's Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung being called Korea’s new It Girls and bagging every magazine cover and brand ambassadorships out there, or Choi Yena whose solo debut was very well received by fans and critics alike and who is already starring in dramas as a lead and shooting variety shows as a permanent cast member. Chaewon and Sakura are the latest addition to the list after debuting with the Hybe girl group Le Sserafim that is already breaking records.

Among all these debuts and releases, one debut that has been a fan favorite since its release was Jo Yuri’s who averted all expectations last year with Glassy. Yuri was known as a power vocal during her time in Iz*one so most fans expected her to either release ballads or a pop leaning track that is very vocally challenging - something similar to what Aaile or Lee Hi put out. But Yuri settled on something more low-key, subdued and pop-y for her highly anticipated debut. This decision gave us the catchy pop track that is Glassy. While Glassy doesn’t exactly show Yuri’s full potential as a vocalist or an artist, it is a great track that has incredible replayability.

Finally, after waiting for seven long months, we have news about Yuri’s comeback. On 13 May, WAKEONE Entertainment, Yuri’s label, revealed that the idol is coming back with a mini album in early June. Later, on 16 May, the first teaser poster for the comeback was released. It revealed the title for the mini album, Op. 22 Y-Waltz: in Major.

The poster has gotten us very excited for her comeback since the concept already seems great from the little we’ve see through it. Considering the concept for her last release was also top notch with fantastic styling throughout the promotions, we have high expectations for this comeback!

How do you feel about it? Tell us in the comments!
