Enhypen member Sunghoon just finished his last broadcast as an MC of the korean music show Music Bank. Sunghoon's departure from 'Music Bank' as an MC comes after 11 months of his appointment. He was appointed an MC of the show back in September 2021 alongside IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, and the pair had their first broadcast as official MCs of Music Bank on 8 October 2021. His last broadcast as a host was on 2 August 2022.
The duo who were known as ‘Jangkku’ were the 37th presidents (hosts) of the music show. They were loved by viewers who found them calm and charming. They even won the Best Couple Award at the '2021 KBS Entertainment Awards' at the end of last year.
The news about the Enhypen member leaving Music Bank as a host came out on 1 August through a report by Spotify News. According to the news, after leaving 'Music Bank', Sunghoon will focus more on his main job - i.e. as a member of Enhypen.
Enhypen is about to go on its first world tour in October and fans are speculating this might be the main reason why Sunghoon is stepping down as the MC as it will be difficult for him to host Music Bank every week while simultaneously being on a world tour. Enhypen’s world tour starts with a Seoul concert that will be held at the SK Handball Stadium in Seoul Olympic Park on the 17 and 18 September. Later in October, the group will have concerts in 6 cities in the United States and 3 cities in Japan.
Meanwhile, there are rumors about Wonyoung renewing her contract with Music Bank for another year - although this isn’t officially confirmed.
