The AMAs 2021 just ended and BTS swept the show.
The group won three big awards at the event this year. Firstly, they won the ‘Favorite Duo or Group – Pop’ award where they were nominated alongside AJR, Glass Animals, Maroon 5 and Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak).
The other award BTS won at the event is the ‘Favorite Song – Pop’ category with their summer hit Butter. They won over some strong contenders in this category including Doja Cat’s Kiss Me More featuring SZA, Dua Lipa’s Levitating, Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License, and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s Save Your Tears (Remix).
They also performed Butter dressed in sharp yellow and white suits. Originally, they had planned to perform the track with Megan Thee Stallion who is featured in a version of the song that was released in August. Unfortunately, Megan shared she couldn’t attend the show due to a personal reason so the boys performed it by themselves.
BTS also took home the prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ award which is considered one of the bigger awards of the event. They won over some formidable names in music – namely, Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.
Lastly, BTS also performed their latest collaboration with Coldplay, My Universe at the award show.
Congratulations to BTS for all their achievements on this night and for the stellar show they put on during their two performances!
