NCT 127's 4th full-length album 2 Baddies has ranked high in Hanteo Chart’s record of the highest album sales in the first week after release with 1,547,000 copies sold.
NCT 127 came back with their 4th full-length album 2 Baddies and a title track of the same name on 16 September. The huge number of their album sales is the third highest of any artist as recorded by Hanteo Chart, the largest record sales site in Korea. BTS and Seventeen are the only two acts who have more first week sales than them. Notably, this is also NCT 127’s third consecutive million-seller album.
Moreover, the first week sales of NCT 127's 2 Baddies album has made them the SM artist with the highest first week sales ever demonstrating NCT 127's popularity and influence as global musical acts. SM Entertainment is home to some of Kpop’s biggest stars including Girls' Generation, EXO, Red Velvet, SHINee and aespa.
The boy group is also topping major domestic and international music charts with this release. The album topped the downloads and BGM charts, and won two awards in the music category of Circle Charts (formerly Gaon charts) and BGM charts.
NCT 127 members showcase their individual charms through their style and voice in the avant-garde 2 Baddies! The title track makes use of autotune tastefully which fits in with the overall concert of the release and the song has a subdued dubstep instrumental.
NCT 127 made their debut with the song Fire Truck back on 7 July 2016 and a lineup of 7 members Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and Haechan. Their first EP, NCT #127, was a commercial success and earned them the Best New Group award at several South Korean music award ceremonies that year. Doyoung and Johnny joined the group in December 2016 ahead of their second EP, Limitless, which was released in 2017 and Jungwoo, the group's final member, joined in September 2018 during the release of their first studio album, Regular-Irregular. NCT 127 have released four EPs, two repackaged albums, three studio albums, and two compilation albums (in South Korea) till date.
