Actor Lee Chaemin has been selected as the new MC for KBS’ weekly music show 'Music Bank'.

According to Newsen, Lee Chaemin's agency Gold Medalist revealed on 23 September, "Lee Chaemin will appear as the new 'Music Bank' MC." The MC position of 'Music Bank' has been called the gateway to stardom - especially for male actors as three previous hosts, Song Joong-ki, Park Seo-joon, and Park Bo-gum, all went on to have a phenomenal acting careers after their MC-ing gig at Music Bank. So, a lot of viewers were anticipating with interest in who will be the next MC.

Lee Chaemin is a rising Korean actor signed to Gold Medalist, which also houses a number of award-winning actors including Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji. He was born in 2000 and is currently studying acting at the Korea National University of Arts. He appeared in the tvN drama 'High Class', which aired last year, and the KBS 2TV drama 'The speed to you 493km', which ended in June. He will be the 38th male MC of Music Bank.

Lee Chaemin will host Music Bank with the other MC, IVE member Jang Wonyoung, starting from the episode that will be broadcast on 30 September. Jang Wonyoung started off as an MC of the music program alongside Enhypen’s Sunghoon back in October last year. While Sunghoon apparently stepped down as a host because of his groups’ upcoming tour schedules, Jang Wonyoung reportedly has extended her contract with Music Bank to host the show for another year.
