You have seen many podcast directories but not so many just K-pop only directories! Here we are creating a K-pop-only podcast directory and invite you to add your podcast to it, if you own one. How to add? It's easy. Also, this is a FREE option for any K-Pop podcast owner!

Photo License

 Submitting your podcast

First, you need a username to be able to suggest your podcast. And you need to be logged in. When creating the username, please make sure that it is not the same as the podcast name. The username should be related to you, not your podcast. So choose wisely! Once you have created a user, and logged in to Kpoppr, just go to homepage, and on the left menu, click on "Podcasts". On the top-left you will see "Suggest a podcast" link. Click on it and fill out the form.

The most challenging part in filling up the form is finding the RSS feed of your podcast. If you are on Anchor.fm, it is pretty straightforward. You will see a RSS feed button on your podcast profile page. Right beside the icons for other Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, etc. If you don't see it, get help from Get RSS Feed.

Once you have your RSS Feed, and you fill up other important stuff such as Feed name, description, and website, it is time to upload an image, and choose a color hex. Use the same image you are using everywhere else for branding purposes. When choosing a color hex, if you have never done so before, you can google "google color picker", and Google will show you a nice picker. Choose the main color that you use for your branding, and get the hex code. The color picker will look like the below screenshot.

You can see a section below the picker that says "Hex". You need to copy the part after the "#" symbol and paste it in the podcast form.

Please don't forget to check "I am the owner of this podcast" checkbox on the top of the form before you submit. Once you submit, please wait for one of the moderators to approve your podcast!

 How to get approved

If your podcast submission meets the following criteria, you will have high success of getting approved:

Your podcast is mostly about K-Pop. Could be related to K-Drama as well.

You must have a good podcast with several episodes already in production.

You have some kind of social media presence and you are actively trying to promote your podcast.

You create an account and you are a user with a good standing. No "code of conduct" violations and such.

You have your bio properly filled out on your personal profile page.

Your username isn't the same as the podcast name (Will conflict when creating a URL for your podcast page).

You write and post an article about your podcast. You can learn more about how to write an article here.

Your article gets some kind of attention (comments, likes, shares) and stats look good.

 While you wait

While you wait for approval, do think of introducing yourself in the #Welcome post. And also make a nice post about your podcast. Maybe write about what it is about, how it got started, and what your future plans are. The more you write the better chances you have of getting noticed!

 Basics

Organization accounts are a FREE option for anyone! And are great for fan clubs, dance cover groups, or even k-pop related businesses!

To create or join an organization, simply head to your settings page.

 Benefits

Dedicated Profile Page: Your organization will now have a page to display key information, a list of organization members, posts you've shared, and more.

Organization Branding on Posts: Your team will have the ability to enable org branding on new posts, which will show up in the header, sidebar, and footer.

Call-to-Action on Posts: Drive readers towards your products and services with a call-to-action unit alongside your posts.

Enhanced Analytics: Measure performance by keeping track of view counts, reactions, and CTA clicks on each post via your org dashboard.

Build a Following: As community members follow your organization, they’ll receive notifications of new posts, and your content will show up more prominently in their feed.

To get started, head to your settings page to create or join an organization.

 FAQ

1. I want to cross-post content, do you support Canonical URLs?

Absolutely. You can set the canonical_url in the Front Matter of each post. We also have an RSS Import tool to make importing articles a bit easier.

2. I publish articles both as an individual, and as part of an organization. Will I need two separate accounts?

Nope — you can continue to use your account as normal. As part of an organization, you will see an option to enable organization branding at the top of every new post.

3. How can I invite more people to my organization?

You’ll see an invite token at the top of your settings page. To add someone to your organization, simply provide them with that token. They’ll enter it at the top of the same page to join the group. Note: if they are already part of an org, they'll need to use the drop-down menu to select "New Organization" in order to see the input box for entering the code.

4. Can I join multiple organizations?

Yes! You can do so in your settings. For example, you may want to be a part of a work organization and also create a casual org for friends.

5. How do I pass my org admin responsibilities off to another member of the org?

Admins of an organization are able to promote other members of their organization into that same Admin role. There can be any number of admins per org.

6. Where do I go to view my organization's analytics?

Org Admins are able to view analytics for all posts published under the organization on the org dashboard.

7. Can you talk about about org roles?

There are only two org roles:
org admin
&
org member
. Note that all org admins have the same abilities for the moment.

If you are the creator of an org you'll automatically be made an admin, and any other org admins you invite will have the same capabilities as you. To be clear, there is no separate
org creator
role at the moment.

8. How do I delete my organization?

You can delete your organization if you:

are the only member in the organization

are an admin of the organization

the organization has no posts

and the organization has no credits

If you'd like to delete your organization, first make sure you're logged into dev.to as yourself. Navigate to organization settings, use the drop-down menu to select the correct org, and scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says Danger Zone. You should now be able to delete your organization.

9. How do I remove myself from an org?

If you are an org member, you can remove yourself by navigating to organization settings, use the drop-down menu to select the correct org, and scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says Danger Zone. You should see an option to "Leave Organization".

If you are an admin for the org, you will need to have another org admin remove your admin status, before following the guidance above to remove yourself from the org.

Note: Org admin are unable to remove the admin status from their own account; this safeguard is in place to make it so that every organization always has an active admin. In other words, an org admin cannot create an org and then leave the org admin-less — they must first elect another org admin before leaving. Alternatively, they can follow the steps above to delete their org entirely.

10. How do I transfer org ownership to another user?

The best way to transfer an org to another user is to use the invitation secret code available from organization settings to invite the user as an org member. Once they've joined, then you can give them admin status for the org by changing their org role. After making the user an admin, they have all of the same org privileges as you.

If you wish to leave the org, just follow the steps listed above in the question "How do I remove myself from an org?".

 First things first

Writing your first post on kpoppr.com can be as unfussy as clicking on the Create Post button at the top of the screen (which takes you to https://kpoppr.com/new) and jotting down some thoughts before hitting the juicy Publish button at the bottom of the screen.

That will get you started and on your way to publishing regularly, which is the key to creating connections with readers who engage with your work.

If you want to build your readership and engagement further, here are a few more tips and tricks to posting on here that you might want to know about:

 How the editor works

This heading is a little misleading, because there are 2 editors to choose from right now. They're both markdown-based, but look and function a little different from each other:

There's Rich + Markdown

And Basic

You can switch between these in your User Settings under Customization (where you can also try out the different colour schemes featured in those screenshots - but I digress...), just bear in mind that posts previously published in one editor will continue to use that editor for any edits in the future.

While the Basic editor carries the post's meta-data in its header, the Rich version tucks it in around the edges. So, if you want a cover image in the Basic editor, you'll have to link to it in the header. Similarly, if you want to create a series or link to a canonical URL you'll need to add those in yourself.

How to tag (and why you should)

Having your post tagged correctly helps your audience find you, and helps build your personalized community here on kpoppr.com. Bonus: tagging correctly avoids getting your post reported for suspicious behaviour.

Be sure to check out the tag descriptions for any tags you're planning to use and be sure you're following any posting guidelines. For examples of tags that have descriptions and guidelines, check out

#news,

#comebacks

 Getting ahead

Headers are useful tools for organizing the content of your post, but did you know they're also useful tools for navigating around your post - especially for users of screen readers and other accessibility tooling? Since your post title is a level 1 header, you should be starting your headers with level 2 and moving down through the levels as your post requires. This entire post uses level 2 headers apart from this section, because this feels like an a11y subsection rather than a standalone one.

 Let's talk about images

A picture speaks a thousand words, or something, right? Well, that depends on your alt text...

Not only do pictures help break up the wall-of-text effect of an in-depth tutorial, but they can also help influence the energy of your post and impact on your audience. Just remember to include alt text, so that anyone unable to view the image still knows what it is. For example, the alt text for this image is
Bigbang screengrab from TV show
:

Photo from Wikipedia CC by 3.0

While a fix is on the way, cover images currently don't have alt text, so while they're handy for positioning your post at or near the top of the feed, don't rely on the cover image itself to convey any information that's important to the message of your post. That means, even if you have a pretty graphic title for a cover image you still need to write that title out in full.

 And finally

We are here to learn from each other. If you have any other hints, tips, or best practices for post authors please feel free to share them below! We'd love to learn about the things you've discovered here on kpoppr.com and how you connect with other members of the community.
