November Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings Revealed

November brand image rankings for girl groups have been released by the Korean Business Research Institute.

With a brand reputation index of 5,678,123 Blackpink maintained their spot at the top of the list in the month of November. The YG girl group had “world tour,” “Instagram,” and “concert” as the top-ranking phrases in their keyword analysis and “perform,” “record,” and “advertise” as their top-ranking related terms.

With a brand reputation index of 5,412,686, rookie girl group NewJeans climbed up to number two on the list this month which is a 71.0% increase in their index scores since October. While IVE maintained their third place spot on the list in November with a brand index score of 4,395,657. Twice and Girls’ Generation rounded up the top five spots at fourth and fifth places with a brand reputation index of 2,664,683 and 2,430,151, respectively.

The rankings were calculated using big data collected from 13 October to 13 November, and an examination of many girl groups’ consumer engagement, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes.

November Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings Revealed

November brand reputation rankings for boy groups have been released by the Korean Business Research Institute.

With a brand reputation index of 7,925,988, BTS topped the list yet again in October. This is the 54th consecutive week they have been atop this list. They had “Jin,” “HYBE,” and “Billboard” as the top-ranking phrases in their keyword analysis, and “advertise,” “surpass,” and “record” as their top-ranking related terms.

With a brand reputation index of 2,893,592, JYP boy group Stray Kids rose up to the second place spot on the list this month which is a 109.88% increase compared to their index numbers last month. Seventeen slid down a spot to third place this month with an index of 2,229,913. EXO and THE BOYZ rounded up the top five spots at fourth and fifth places with brand reputation indexes of 1,888,710 and 1,764,786, respectively.

The rankings were calculated using big data collected from 12 October to 12 November, and an examination of many boy groups’ consumer engagement, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes.

JYP Issues Warning Against Stray Kids’ Invasion Of Privacy

JYP Entertainment has issued a strong warning against the ongoing invasion of the privacy of Stray Kids.

JYP Entertainment issued a statement on 11 November threatening to take strong legal action against those who continued to violate Stray Kids' privacy and basic rights in the future.

Despite having "made several prior announcements regarding this issue," the agency noted that a number of individuals continued to engage in "actions such as waiting for the artist close to their dorm, following them into their dorm elevator, and trespassing into the dorm building up to their doorstep." JYP Entertainment also stated that they had collected evidence of such actions and forwarded it to the police, threatening that they would both press criminal charges.

Hello, this is JYPE.
We would like to thank the fans who always show Stray Kids lots of love and support.
There have been repeated cases of people invading our artist’s privacy even though we have made several previous announcements regarding this issue. Especially due to people committing actions such as waiting for the artist near their dorm, following them into the elevator of their dorm, and sneaking into the dorm building up to their doorstep, serious mental and physical distress is being experienced not only by the artist, but also their neighbors who live in the same building.
According to the law regarding the punishment of stalking crimes, engaging in the aforementioned actions is considered “stalking behavior” and constitutes a crime that can be punished by up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of up to 30 million won.
If the situation persists, it is likely that it will have a negative impact on the maintenance of the artist’s dorm. We ask you to recognize that acting only out of self-interest can cause harm to others and to refrain from such activities.
Following our previous notice, we gathered evidence including CCTV footage of people committing actions that violate our artist’s privacy and personal rights, and we transferred them to the police station in charge.
If the violations continue after this notice is posted, we will not only place the perpetrators on a permanent blacklist for Stray Kids fan club activities, but also take all possible civil and criminal [legal] measures available according to the laws related to stalking crimes. We notify you that we continue to have no intention of reaching a settlement or showing leniency in such cases
JYPE will continue to work harder for our artist’s safety and the protection of their rights.

HYBE Releases Plans For 2023 Through Community Briefing

Park Jiwon, CEO of HYBE announced the activities of their artists for the year 2023.

On 10 November, HYBE broadcasted a video titled ‘HYBE Company Briefing with the 2022 Community’ worldwide through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel where CEO Park briefly announced the activity plans of HYBE label artists such as &TEAM, Tomorrow X Together, Seventeen, Fromis_9, NewJeans, and Le Sserafim.

CEO Park Ji-won said, "One month later, on 7 December, HYBE Labels Japan's first new boy group &TEAM will debut.

Also, Big Hit Music's Tomorrow by Together will kick off the new year with a release. CEO Park Ji-won said, "(TOMORROW X TOGETHER) will come out with their 5th mini album in January 2023."

As predicted, BTS will focus on individual activities for the time being. CEO Park Ji-won said, "Following Jin, who released a single album, we plan to release RM's solo album soon."

Pledis is also fully prepared. CEO Park Ji-won announced, "We plan to release Min-hyun's solo album following Baek-ho's solo album. Seventeen and Fromis_9 are also preparing to release new albums in the first half of next year," he explained adding, "Be Lift Labs plans to release a new album after Enhypen's overseas tour ends early next year. We are also preparing for the debut of Be Lift Lab's second artist. It is currently in production,” he added.

Park also mentioned Source Music, which debuted their monster rookie group, Le Sserafim this year. CEO Park Ji-won said, "We plan to increase opportunities to meet fans offline, including global tours in Asia and North America, while supporting active album activities that communicate with global fans including Korea and Japan."

Another big HYBE rookie, NewJeans, also announced plans. CEO Park Ji-won said, "Ador, who set new records and new music charts at the same time as their debut, and raised the rookie team as a trending artist, will support NewJeans' active album activities through different music and content next year."

In this company briefing held under the theme of ‘coevolution’, various actors forming the HYBE community appeared and presented the direction of HYBE through the process of finding answers to the questions given to each.

NCT To Release New Content Introducing SM Rookies

NCT is coming up with a new show where NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and WayV meet the new SM Rookies.

SM Studios announced on 8 November, "We will launch our first global content 'Welcome to NCT Universe's on the 16 November."

'Welcome to NCT Universe' is a reality program in which SM Rookies, who received a mysterious invitation from 'Neo City', becomes an NCT guide, and experiences everything about NCT with Shotaro and Sungchan.

SM Rookies is a pre-debut team under SM Entertainment. In 'Welcome to NCT Universe', members who were introduced through SM Rookies' official account in July will appear. As it is their first reality show, it is expected that they will infinitely radiate hidden charms that are not yet known.

SM Rookies is a pre-debut training group founded by SM Entertainment in 2013 that consists of individuals who have yet to make their official debut as a member of a band. The Boyz Will Hold A Fan Concert In December To Wrap Up The Year

THE BOYZ will hold a fan-con in December and spend the end of the year specially with fans.

The Boyz's agency, IST Entertainment, said, "The Boyz will hold 'THE BOYZ FAN CON: THE B-ROAD' at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul for two days on 2 and 3 December where they will meet fans online and offline simultaneously.”

The agency made a surprise announcement by releasing the poster image of The Boyz’s fancon ‘THE B-ROAD’ to be held in December through official SNS, and made the news of the year-end performance official. The members in the published photo showcased a cozy vibe as if they were at an outdoor picnic sporting casual clothes like knitwear and jumpers with bright expressions.

The Boyz have their debut anniversary in December and are holding this large scale fan-con event to celebrate it with their fans who have supported them for the past 5 years. From the completion of the first world tour this year, to their first solo concert at the legendary KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Stadium), one of the largest concert halls in Korea, and the Japan tour, the group spent a fruitful and fun year with their fans, creating special memories along the way.

Tickets for the offline performance of THE BOYZ's year-end Fancon 'THE BOYZ FAN CON : THE B-ROAD' will go on sale via Melon Tickets at 8 pm on 10 November. General reservations are available from 8 pm on 14 November, and details about the performance can be found through the official fan cafe of The Boyz and their social media.

Meanwhile, The Boyz completed the finale performance of 'THE BOYZ JAPAN TOUR: THE B-ZONE' at the Musashinonomori Sports Plaza main arena in Tokyo on the 5 and 6 November - throughout this tour they performed in three Japanese cities. Following the domestic Fancon in December, they plan on holding a Japanese fan meeting on 21 and 22 January next year.

Treasure’s Bang Yedam And Mashiho Leave The Group And YG Entertainment

Treasure members Bang Yedam and Masiho are leaving the group.

YG Entertainment announced through Treasure’s Weverse account on 8 November, "After long discussions with Mashiho and Bang Yedam, the exclusive contract has been terminated."

The company further explained, "Mashiho is in need of recovery for health reasons, and in the case of Bang Yedam, we made this decision to create an environment where he can grow as a producer with his own unique musical style."

In the future, TREASURE plans to reorganize the team into a 10-member group consisting of Choi Hyun-seok, Ji-hoon, Yoshi, Jun-gyu, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jung-woo, and So Jung-hwan.

In May of this year, YG Entertainment announced that Masiho and Bang Yedam's activities were temporarily suspended.

Stray Kids To Perform At A US Stadium And A Dome In Japan For Their Tour

Stray Kids are taking on some huge venues for the encore of their 2nd world tour in North America and Japan.

On 8 November, Stray Kids' agency JYP Entertainment announced, "The second world tour [of Stray Kids] 'Stray Kids 2nd World Tour MANIAC' will have an encore performance. Next year, we will hold a world tour encore concert in the US and Japan.”

Stray Kids will hold these encore concerts at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan on 11 and 12 February, 2023, Kyocera Dome, Osaka on 25 and 26 February, and at the Bank of California Stadium in Los Angeles, USA on 31 March.

This is a huge feat as Stray Kids is only the second K-pop boy group to hold a concert at a North American stadium with more than 20,000 seats. In addition to that, for the first time since their debut, the boy group will conclude the final of their world tour (where they performed at 17 cities across the world) with a solo concert at a Japanese dome concert hall.

Stray Kids, who completed their solo concert at KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Stadium) in Seoul last September, will be performing in Jakarta, Indonesia on 12 and 13 November, Bangkok, Thailand on 2 and 3 February, 2023, Singapore on 5 February, and Australia on the 17 and 18 February, Melbourne, Sydney on 21 and 22 February, Atlanta, USA on 22 and 23 March, and Fort Worth on 26 and 27 March.

Ex South Korean Ministry Employee Admits To Selling BTS Jungkook's Hat For 10 Million Won

A former foreign ministry employee who posted an article about selling hats worn by BTS member Jungkook admitted to all charges.

On 7 November, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they had completed an investigation into A, a former foreign ministry employee who posted an online sale of a hat worn by BTS Jungkook himself.

Previously, Mr. A posted a picture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs official ID card on a used trading site and posted an article saying that Jungkook's hat would be sold for 10 million won. Person A claimed, "It was left in the waiting area when BTS visited the passport department in secret to make a passport."

However, it was revealed that there were no records of the hat being received as lost items from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Police Agency. As the controversy grew, Mr. A deleted the post and went to a police box in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and surrendered himself.

HYBE, the agency of BTS, is also known to have responded to the police saying, "It is true that he lost his hat at that location (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)."

After the incident, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Park Jin, said in a general audit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee held on the 24th, "If it is confirmed to be true, we will deal with it strictly according to related regulations."

On the other hand, a police official said, "We are reviewing the legal principles for specific crimes. It has not been decided whether the hat will be returned."

Omega X's Agency CEO Resigns Amidst Abuse Controversy

Amid the controversy that boy group Omega X was verbally abused and assaulted by the CEO of their agency, Spire Entertainment’s CEO, Kang Seong Hee, resigns from the post herself.

Spire Entertainment apologized for their actions through a statement they released on 7 November, uploaded on the official Omega X fan cafe, "We bow our heads and sincerely apologize to the members, parents, and fans who care about Omega X who may have been hurt by this incident."

Recently, an Omega X member's recording file was released online, claiming that he was verbally abused and assaulted by the people working at the group’s agency. At that time, Spire Entertainment said, "At the end of the tour, the OMEGA X members and the agency were talking about what they had been working hard for to make a promise to the next one. As this became more intense, his voice became higher.”

Omega X, who returned to Korea after the tour schedule, opened a new SNS account on 6 November claiming, "There were days when we were treated unfairly by the management company to the point that we wanted to cry, but we remember the shouts from the fans and watch the messages of support and go to sleep. It was the only strength that made us hold out." They added, "We will continue to run towards our dreams as we do now. We will stand in front of our fans again with good music and stage."

November Variety Show Brand Reputation Rankings Revealed

The monthly Brand Reputation Rankings for Variety Shows have been announced for the month of November.

With a brand reputation index of 6,405,867 MBC show I Live Alone (also known as Home Alone) maintained its position at the top of this list for the month of November. The show had “Jun Hyun Moo,” “Honey J,” and “Lee Chanhyuk” as the top-ranking phrases in their keyword analysis and “reveal,” “award,” and “not air” as their top-ranking related terms. Their positivity-negativity analysis ratio is 80.53% positive.

SBS show Running Man climbed up to the second spot with a brand reputation index of 5,257,822 which is an impressive 22.27% increase in its numbers since last month. The KBS show National Singing Contest came in third with a brand reputation ranking of 4,263,563 marking a 12.74% rise in their score compared to October.

JTBC’s Knowing Bros (also known as Men From Mars) and SBS show My Little Old Boy got fourth and fifth in the list, respectively.

The rankings were calculated using big data collected from 6 October to 6 November, and an examination of 50 variety shows' consumer engagement, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes.

November Variety Star Brand Reputation Rankings Revealed

The monthly Brand Reputation Rankings for Variety Stars have been announced for the month of November.

With a brand reputation index of 1,968,744, Yoo Jae Suk held onto the top of the list in November. “Netflix,” “Kim Jong Kook,” and “Park Soo Hong” were among the top-ranking phrases in his keyword analysis, while “challenge,” “cheer on,” and “talk” were among the top-ranking related terms.

Comedian Kim Shin Young placed second this month with a brand reputation ranking of 1,609,185. Kim Gura got third this month with a brand reputation ranking of 1,589,506.

Additionally, Kim Jong Kook, and Lee Seung Gi got fourth and fifth in the list with a brand reputation index of 1,609,185 and 1,589,506, respectively.
